1. Who we are

NeuroKids is operated by SmartX Technologies ("SmartX Technologies", "we", "us", "our"). SmartX Technologies is the data controller responsible for personal data processed through NeuroKids.

2. Personal data we collect

• Account data: name, email address, password (hashed), authentication tokens.
• Profile and usage data: selected plan, worksheet history, preferences, feature usage.
• Support data: messages and attachments you send to us.
• Technical data: device identifiers, browser type, IP address, log data and approximate location derived from IP.
• Cookies and similar technologies: see "Cookies" below.

Payment data (card details, billing address, tax IDs) is collected directly by our Merchant of Record, Paddle, and is not stored by SmartX Technologies.

3. Why we use your data and legal bases

• To provide the service (account creation, generating worksheets, supporting your subscription) — performance of a contract.
• To process payments and orders through Paddle — performance of a contract.
• To secure the service and prevent fraud or abuse — legitimate interests.
• To improve the product (analytics, debugging, performance) — legitimate interests.
• To provide customer support — performance of a contract / legitimate interests.
• To send service-related communications — performance of a contract.
• To send marketing emails (where applicable) — consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
• To comply with legal obligations (e.g. accounting, tax) — legal obligation.

4. Who we share data with

• Paddle — our Merchant of Record, for sale of the product, subscription management, payments, tax compliance, invoicing and refunds. See Paddle's privacy policy.
• Service providers / subprocessors — hosting, database, authentication, email delivery, analytics and customer support tooling, under appropriate contracts.
• Professional advisers — legal, accounting and audit advisers.
• Authorities — where required by law, regulation or valid legal process.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. International transfers

Some of our service providers may be located outside your country or region. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions, in accordance with applicable law.

6. Data retention

We keep personal data for as long as necessary to provide the service and meet our legal obligations. Account data is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards. Billing records are retained for the period required by applicable law (typically several years). When data is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymized.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• request correction of inaccurate data;
• request deletion of your data;
• restrict or object to certain processing;
• request portability of your data;
• withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
• lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

We aim to respond to verified requests within one month.

8. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls and authentication — to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. Children

NeuroKids is intended to be used by adults (parents, teachers, therapists) on behalf of children. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

10. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary to operate the service (e.g. authentication and session management) and, where applicable, optional analytics cookies to understand usage. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings; disabling strictly necessary cookies may impair the service.

11. Changes to this notice

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the service.
